What is spinal manipulation?

The manipulation (also known as an adjustment) is a high velocity low amplitude thrust given into a specific joint in order to provide therapeutic results. This precise procedure is performed following a thorough examination revealing improper function/mobility/alignment. This will relieve associated muscle tension, nerve irritation and assist healing.

Will the manipulation hurt?

The manipulation can sometimes cause some minor discomfort that has been described as a flu-like ache. The discomfort, if present, may occur following the first or second visit. This develops in only a small percentage of the patients. Overall the manipulation is generally considered painless and relieving.
